The Rule of 3

I recently came across an interesting way to approach productivity - rule of 3

Identify the following:

1. 3 outcomes you want to achieve during the year

This could be about growing the startup revenue by 3x, learning a new language and reducing 20 pounds. 

2. 3 outcomes to achieve during the week

Every Monday, do a quick check on what all things to be achieved in the week and condense it to 3 top things. This could be about launching the product, running 30km during the week and finish the detailed research report

3. 3 outcomes for the day

Every morning set 3 things to achieve for the day and do it as early as possible in the day. This could be like A) Finish feature x, B) Run a full test C) Migrate the server. 

Zen habits calls this is the MITs (Most Important Tasks). Always keep the most important 3 things in your schedule and do the rest in the gap times or later in a day.

Every week start with the 3 top level outcome visions and end with the 3 learnings for that week. 

Implement this idea with the help of this plugin.
